18th Japan MINIDAY in HAMANAKO

Come and join Hamanako Miniday!

This year’s Hamanako Miniday will be held on 7th November at a new location called “Nagisa-en” for the first time. Nagisa-en is a camp site on the shore of Lake Hamana at Bentenjima in Hamamatsu. The area is surrounded by many interesting places to visit.See the following English websites:

Memorial Museum 2010

In 1960, a year after the birth of mini, the production of the van, traveller, and countryman versions began. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, there will be a display of these models as a one day museum at Hamanako Miniday.

Attractions

Trade Stands, Paint a Mini, Autojumble, Club sites, Rockercover Racing, Minic world of model cars, food stalls and of course the hundreds of minis brought by their owners!

Admission

Buy your ticket in advance for 2,500 yen per adult. Ticket at the gate 3,500yen.
Children under age of 12 are free to enter.
Tickets are sold at JMSA members shops throughout Japan and Lawson until 6th of November. Online entries for attractions are also available, but so far nothing in English, sorry!

Access

20 min drive from Hamamatsu Nishi IC(interchange), or 35 min drive from Hamamatsu IC of Tomei (Motorway).

Rockercover Racing

Motorsport is quite expensive, isn’t it ? So fit 4 wheels to a Mini Rockercover and have some fun racing. You may even improve your engineering skills building your own Rockercover Racer!The Rockercover racers are released at the top of a ramp, and will run down an approx. 8.4 metre(28ft) track. Each race will include two racers at a time. The Rockercover racers have to be A series Engine rockercovers with wheels attached.

【Terms and Regulations】

Race regulations:

1. The course shall consist of a track approx. 8.4 metres in length.
2. The start will be manually operated by following the officials instruction.
3. The Front wheels should be just before the starting line.
4. A Flying Start will lose the race.
5. The first one crossing the finish line becomes a winner.
6. Should a race result in a draw, it will be run again.
7. Operaters can choose their turn of race on the tournament board as their rockercover racers pass inspection.
8. Competitors winning 2 races in their heat will advance to the next round.

Rockercover car Regulations:

1. Body of racer has to be an A series steel engine rockercover only.
2. A minimum of 4 wheels to be used.
3. The cars shall NOT have any additional power source whatsoever.
4. Maximum length must be under 14 inches(approx. 356mm)
5. Height and width of racers must be less than 8 inches(approx. 203mm)
6. Diameter of wheels must not exceed 5 inches(approx. 127mm)
7. Maximum weight must be under 6 pounds(approx. 2720g)
8. All Metal wheels must have NON metal rims.
9. Front wheels must not extend beyond the front of the body.
10. Any kinds of wheels and bearings are acceptable.
11. No electrical or magnetic devices used on the cars.
12. No limits to decoration and stickers to the car.Terms and Regulations may be changed or added without notice.
